Vastu

What is Vastu?

Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of architecture and design that emphasizes the harmonious arrangement of spaces to enhance the well-being and prosperity of the occupants. It’s based on traditional Hindu and Buddhist beliefs regarding the flow of energy (prana) and its impact on individuals’ lives.

Vastu principles cover various aspects of architecture and design, including the layout of buildings, placement of rooms, doors, windows, and even the direction of staircases and furniture. The goal is to create spaces that promote positive energy flow and balance the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space) in the environment.

While Vastu Shastra has been practiced for centuries and is deeply ingrained in Indian culture, its scientific validity is a subject of debate. Some people believe in its effectiveness and adhere to its principles when designing homes and buildings, while others view it as pseudoscience.
